Philosophy

Louise’s mission is to help mums feel fitter, healthier and stronger through a supportive and motivating community. Whether it’s been 6 weeks or 6 years, no matter how long ago you had children she can help you to safely return to exercise and restrengthen your body so that you can start to take back some control in this crazy roller coaster of motherhood and feel more like you again. Strong Mums isn’t about “bouncing back” after having a baby or getting your pre-baby body back. It’s about feeling fit, healthy and strong enough to keep up with the demands of your little tribe.

Experience

Louise is mum to two little people, Millie and Isaac. She’s always been an active person and sees exercise (whether at the gym, running or sport) as part of her identity. Before becoming a fitness professional Louise had an 11 year background in clinical and research psychology. After the birth of her daughter in 2015 she no longer felt that it aligned with this new part of her identity called motherhood. So she combined her two passions; helping people and fitness.

She ran women’s boot camps until the unexpected early arrival of her son in 2017. All that quiet time in the NICU gave Louise the chance to really think about where she wanted her business to go, and now being a mum of two she steered it into specialist fitness just for mums and has never looked back! She loves helping mums experience the joy of safely returning to exercise and regaining a part of their identity underneath all that motherhood.

I can hand on my heart say that Strong Mums is my fitness home and Lou is my trainer of trainers…she is Amazing! I’ve always loved fitness, but as a busy mum of 2, finding my fitness mojo again was challenging. Lou has given me my motivation, body confidence, strength and sanity back! I absolutely love training with Strong Mums. It wasn’t an easy decision as i had thought i might prefer training back at a gym, but i can honestly say that i wouldn’t even consider a gym now. Not only do we train with a lovely bunch of ladies, but we get to enjoy the outdoors, sunshine and fresh air. Our kids run around playing in the park and have just as much fun as their mums. Lou is a great trainer that pushes you just that little bit more but knows when to stop. I highly recommend.

I love Strong Mums Fitness Classes. My kids and I look forward to going every week. I always leave feeling a thousand times better after fitting in a thorough workout and having connected with other mums. Even though the weights have literally been on my shoulders, I feel like a weight has lifted after having got a great dose of fresh air, exercise and a decent adult conversation! My kids have a blast playing in the park and making new friends also. Lou keeps the sessions interesting by changing the routines each week. I can’t recommend Lou highly enough… she is extremely supportive, knowledgeable and professional and I wish we were able to take part more often!

I started Strong Mums when my third child was about 7 weeks old. Lou is very good at what she does. She is extremely knowledgeable in how to safely strengthen postpartum bodies. She is very understanding when it comes to young children as well – she will often hold or rock my baby so I can keep working while instructing me on proper technique and explaining the benefits of each exercise. Strong Mums is the new Mothers Group, only here you get fit, strong and healthy! Lou is so passionate about fitness and nutrition and has so much knowledge to share. I’ve been a Strong Mum for years and no two sessions have ever been the same. I love how I can bring my two girls to training and they can play in the park while I get a workout, I sometimes even incorporate the kids as weights 😜 I highly recommend Strong Mums to any mum who wants to get fit and healthy.

I have always done my training at the gym by myself, but doing this with Strong Mums in a group environment is fantastic. I love that the exercise’s are focused on women who are either having or have had children, so everyone is in the same boat and so friendly and welcome. Group sizes are small so everyone gets attention to if if they need to correct their form etc, and every day is focused on a different area of the body so plenty of variety. It feels social as well as getting in a workout, and the best part is you take your children with you and they can play alongside us mums, setting a good example for them. I love it!

Joining Strong Mum’s has been the best decision I made for myself this year. I’m a mum of 4 children, 2 with special needs. I was stuck in a rut with my bad eating habits and lack of exercise, and my mental health was suffering because of it. I had followed Strong Mum’s on Facebook for a while before I finally took the plunge and joined up. From the first moment I spoke with Louise I knew this was the right trainer and group for me as she takes a holistic approach to health and fitness. The focus is on nourishing our bodies with good food and building our strength through the outdoor training programs. The combination of these has improved my overall health and wellbeing. Being able to exercise in the outdoors and also bring your babies/children along to play in the park is definitely a bonus, as is the adult conversation with the other mum’s. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Louise is attentive and accommodating to each individual’s needs with both training and emotional/mental wellbeing. I signed up for 12 weeks but I will be continuing on as Strong Mum’s has become a part of my life and routine. If you are a mum looking to make a positive change in your life, this is the best place to start.
