Philosophy

As a passionate anti-diet culture advocate, a weight neutral approach to exercise is of upmost importance to Sheridan. In order to foster a healthy body image and relationship with exercise, she believes that the pressure placed on Mums to “lose the baby weight” or to look a certain way needs to be removed and the fitness industry has so much more to offer women than weight loss.

​With an understanding that the postnatal period is forever and a safe return to exercise extends far beyond the 6-week check, Sheridan wants to help educate women about the important, yet often overlooked steps to building a strong foundation from the inside out. In taking the time to do this, Mums of any age and stage can exercise, enjoy the sports and activities they love or just move freely to meet the demands of every day life with confidence.  Without pain, fear of injury or incontinence.  Working closely with a Women’s Health Physiotherapist is a key component in achieving this.

Sheridan is currently taking some time away from offering face to face services to undertake further study and professional development in order to better support her clients from a Health at Every Size® perspective.

 

Experience

Sheridan joined the fitness industry in 2015 following a 10 year career as a Health and Physical Education teacher.  When her daughter was 3 years old, she launched her first business The HIIT Fix and as her all female client base grew so did Sheridan’s desire to expand her knowledge about exercising safely during pregnancy and beyond.  After becoming a Safe Return to Exercise accredited trainer and joining the Body Beyond Baby Affiliate Team in 2018, My Fit Mumma was born.

​Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree of Human Movement with a Major in Health and Physical Education
  • Certificate IV in Fitness with Australian Institute of Personal Trainers
  • Safe Return to Exercise Accredited Trainer

Sheridan offers awesome post partum classes with nannies on site for childcare. Great for easing back into exercise after having Bub! I was lucky enough to do a term with her after I had Nina. She is also just a lovely person that genuinely cares about her clients

My Fit Mumma is excellent. Sheridan is so thorough in her planning for each individual to safely return to exercise after having a baby. Sheridan is not the usual ‘go hard or go home’ trainer who yells, rather, she is patient and thoughtful. Her priority is safety and she takes the time to tailor the program to suit each individual’s needs. I really needed something for ‘me’ and this is guilt free because the child care staff are in the same room as the exercise. So no mum guilt about leaving bub with a stranger like at some gyms. You’re right there, bub is right there and the child care staff are absolutely fantastic with the kids. I honestly couldn’t recommend My Fit Mumma more highly.

I love working out at The HIIT Fix! Sheridan is fantastic, prioritising form over reps, making sure you’re always pushing to achieve your best in a safe environment. Kid friendly sessions are very well catered for; it’s the first place I’ve been confident enough to bring my girls along.
