Philosophy

Christie is a strong believer in leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle and set up Active Soul to encourage and support other women to achieve their health and fitness goals. She is passionate about ensuring Mums look after their bodies, return to exercise post pregnancy safely and achieve that constant balance we strive for between being a Mum, career women, partner and having essential time out for themselves.

Christie prides herself on being positive, enthusiastic and motivating, catering to their individual needs in a fun and supportive environment so they feel fitter, stronger and filled with a sense of achievement.

Experience

Christie created Active Soul nine years ago alongside the realisation that all too often Mums put everything else ahead of themselves – and while this has to happen sometimes – it’s easy to completely lose sight of their own needs.

Over the years, Active Soul has evolved to provide a holistic approach to women’s health, fitness and wellbeing, offering classes that cater specifically to individual needs regardless of where Mums are at on their fitness journey.

Christie is passionate about Mums looking after themselves post-pregnancy and runs a monthly course at the Parents Centre in Birkenhead educating New Mums ensuring they ‘reset, recover, restore and realise their new potential as they move to embark on their post natal fitness journey.

As a new Mum herself, Christie understands that being a Mum can be a juggling act but has an empathetic and special way of reminding all of the mums she works with that in taking time for themselves, rebuilding fitness from the inside out and enjoying a workout, they will be better equipped to deal with everyday life both physically and emotionally.

Active Soul is all about community and Christie organises two annual charity 5K events that bring people together while raising awareness and funds for chosen charities.

Just one more way Mums can get out there, moving and feeling better for it!

I started going to Christie at Active Soul after having my second child, coming up 7 years ago now. I loved that I could take my baby to the classes as I didn’t have any family in Auckland to assist with childcare. Everyone was so friendly and I could get into fitness whilst being there for my little girl. I loved it and looked forward to going every week. Although I no longer have babies, I still go to Active Soul. Christie is fantastic and really supportive of what everyone’s personal needs and goals are. She has kept me motivated, (I have done the same thing twice in the whole time), doesn’t let me quit,( turns up on your doorstep if you don’t make a session).
