About

Philosophy

Mags creates a safe place for women to get strong, feel confident and enjoy life to the full. She gets excited about helping pre and post natal women to begin their journey.

During pregnancy it is so important to keep exercising and build strength in a safe way. Your body changes at every stage of pregnancy and Mags accommodates and modifies exercises to your needs.

Our bodies and our lives change so much post natal, therefore it is so important for mums to look after themselves. Life has changed dramatically and confidence can drop from feeling overwhelmed.

Mags is here to empower women to feel good about themselves again and build strength from the inside out.

Experience

Participating in sports had always been part of Mags' life (cross country running, rowing and playing Gaelic football) until the birth of her beautiful son changed her life dramatically. She had to start again, in the face of many birth injuries, building herself up to be strong from the inside out.

Mags was fortunate to have a near-perfect pregnancy. The challenges and ongoing problems all came after a posterior labour and numerous postpartum health complications.

Mags experienced a fourth degree tear, haemorrhoids, 6cm muscle separation and a prolapsed bladder (resulting in a TVT sling being inserted to help support her bladder).

At her final check up with the urologist, Mags was told not to put on anymore weight and that she couldn't ever lift over 5kgs, meaning she couldn't lift her little boy and she couldn't run again.

Mags felt alone, ashamed, angry and, as a result, her mental health was deteriorating. She felt that the first year of motherhood had been robbed from her due to all of the complications and the constant comings and goings in and out of hospital for different surgeries.

It was so difficult for Mags to find a trainer who had the background and knowledge to take her on as a client. She needed a trainer who was aware that a lot of exercises could do more harm than good to someone with her postpartum injuries.

It was then that Mags decided to pursue her own studies in fitness, determined to heal her body. She went on to specialise in women’s health fitness and tailored her own personal rehabilitation program, working alongside her Women's Health Physio.

Her bladder and pelvic floor is now strong (no nasty leaks), her muscles are back together and she's lifting over 40kgs safely whilst having control of her pelvic floor. She is now STRONG from the inside out.

Mags started her fitness career in a women-only fitness studio and absolutely loved training women. She felt so connected with each and every client and enjoyed being a part of their journey as they achieved their goals. She set up a business to make a safe space for women to exercise and get strong in her home studio.

Mags also offers mobile personal training and will travel to your own home or train you virtually. She is so passionate about helping and educating women as they are on their own personal journey pre and postnatal. Every woman has their own story and experience, no matter how small or big it is.

Mags never wants any woman to be afraid to exercise or live with the feeling that their whole life has been taken away from them postpartum.
