Philosophy
Jody believes that the post-natal period does not end once your baby is no longer a newborn.
Many common weaknesses found in women can last way beyond the 6-week post-natal check and returning to exercise safely is crucial for every woman’s long-term health and wellbeing.
Focusing on rebuilding from the inside out, stretching, mobilising and strengthening those areas most affected by pregnancy and caring for a newborn is the focus of every program.
A strong foundation means woman have choices with how she uses her body, whether that be returning to activities she enjoyed prior to having a baby, attempting new physical challenges or simply just enjoying life with her family without fear of pain or social embarrassment.
To ensure this is achieved, every women that trains with Jody is checked for abdominal separation, given guidelines around pelvic floor and deep abdominal activation and is treated as a friend, an individual, provided with the support, encouragement and knowledge to thrive as both woman and a mother.
Women that work with Jody have fun as well as working hard & leave feeling like they are becoming a stronger, fitter and healthier version of themselves!
Experience
Jody is mum to two spirited little people and started working in health & fitness in 2000, going on to gain experience in all areas of the fitness industry in Perth, Sydney and Singapore.
Jody suffered with undiagnosed anxiety and depression with her first baby in 2012 after a challenging pregnancy which meant the only exercise option was Clinical Pilates, and a knee injury following the birth of her second child at home (unplanned & unsupported by medical professionals) in 2014.
After a short break from fitness, the birth of her second baby & fuelled by her passion for educating, energising and empowering other Mums, Jody launched MumaBubs in 2015.
And, as a result of her own experiences, takes a very holistic approach to working with new mums, focusing on all areas of a women’s lifestyle to ensure that she is being supported and obtains the most out of each fitness session and is able to thrive in her daily life.

Jody is an amazing support and I can’t thank her enough for getting me through this new chapter of my life physically and mentally. She is so positive and upbeat and I always leave her sessions feeling really good!
After my birth, I joined her 4 week NewMuma program which was all about getting your body and muscle separation back on track. I am now about to join her MoveMuma programme and get all fit and healthy again with her amazing support!
Thanks again Jody, you truly are a wonderful woman!
Jody’s classes were perfect for me, adapted and supportive, working with my body’s pace to get me back on my fitness journey post-baby.
Jody has a wealth of knowledge and her classes are small and tailored to her clients’ individual needs. I highly recommend Jody and will definitely be back with her in the future!
I love how Jody keeps me accountable and since starting with Jody I am stronger, I am more consistent with taking time for me and my health and fitness, and I am listening to my body more, which is a huge achievement for me.
Jody has been excellent the last two months helping me regain my fitness and reminding me of what my body went through and not to push too hard even though I want to!
At that time my main goals were to regain my post-baby body and to gain fitness to keep up with my family, particularly my 2 little boys.
Jody showed me that what I thought was strength actually wasn’t and she helped to re-educate me by showing me other ways of training, that being for functional movement as opposed to ‘punishing’ my body with exercise.
Since training with Jody I have improved my functional fitness, I have a better awareness of the importance of having a strong core and not just ‘abs’, and I have improved my strength and muscle tone.
Jody has truly been such a huge support in my journey to accepting and taking better care of the body I have.
I was so weak in every way before, but I am feeling so good now.
Time and my daughter are my biggest hurdles. I struggle to fit in the extra stuff at home and put housework and my daughter before myself. My daughter doesn’t sleep well and can often be very clingy. When she hasn’t slept well, which is really most of the time, I am also tired. I know going to Jody twice a week forces me to make time for myself, and my daughter also enjoys coming along as well. She gets to let off energy and make friends with the other kids. I always get a lot out of the workouts and come away feeling like I’ve really done something for myself. I come away feeling a lot better about myself.
I haven’t felt this good with anyone else. I’ve had a lot of back, hip and neck pain in the past and have spent a lot of money trying to treat it. Since seeing Jody not only do I feel so much stronger, feel better about myself and lost weight, but I don’t have the pain anymore and haven’t needed to see a physiotherapist or osteopath since. I feel Jody really is passionate about women’s health and knows a lot more than other professionals I have seen. I have learned so much from her and I know she knows me well and is looking after me.
