Meet Jenny

Jenny Dugard post baby number 2Jenny Dugard pregnant

Post Baby number 2                           Pregnant with Baby number 2

I am Jenny Dugard, Director and Founder of Body Beyond Baby, I have been involved in health and fitness my whole life.  Beginning in my younger years competing to a National level in gymnastics in the UK.  After retiring from competition I turned my hand to coaching younger children, this is where my desire for teaching and passing on my message was born.

I moved to Australia at 18 years of age and with a few years working in the Australian Film Industry under my belt I returned to the world of fitness and trained to become a Personal Trainer. I held a franchise with Fitness First until the birth of my first child in July 2008.

Now specialising in prenatal training and postnatal rebuilding I aim to bring the benefits of health and fitness into the lives of as many mothers as I can.  I am a great believer in making exercise part of everyday life and working at it as a family so that your children will naturally lead active lives that are free from sedentary-related illness and injury.

Our children are so precious, what we teach them early in life will shape and stay with them for years to come.  If they see exercise, healthy cooking and healthy eating as a normal part of everyday life they will grow up with these values and lead a much healthier and fulfilled lifestyle.

Areas of expertise:
•    Pre and Postnatal group exercise
•    Abdominal separation rehabilitation and core control
•    Postural and functional strength for mums
•    Body composition and shape change
•    Lifestyle change for the whole family

Being mother to three year old Marley and 18month old India I know only too well the challenges that motherhood brings.  Through leading by example I will show you that it is possible to get fit, stay fit and look and feel fantastic as well as being mum.

Rebuilding from the inside out is the most important aspect of beginning exercise after having a baby, ensuring you build strong foundations will help to keep you free from the aches and pains that don’t have to come hand in hand with motherhood.

In the Media

I appear as an expert on the Blackmores Wellbeing Blog, The Busy Mums Fitness Club and newbornbaby.com.au. I have done numerous photo shoots and appeared in advertising for Fitness First and was honoured to be an ambassador for the recent Droptober Campaign.  I am regularly quoted in various mother and baby magasines in relation to pre and postnatal health and fitness.

Meet Amy

I am Amy Adamson, trainer at Body Beyond Baby.  I have recently completed my Cert III and IV and joined the Body Beyond Baby team.  As a previous client of Jen's since after the birth of my second child I fell in love with her sessions, philosophies and the way that BBB really looks after their mums.

As a previous Chartered Accountant I have always been into health and fitness I have always dreamt of a life where I enjoy the work I do and be there to raise my children.  When Jen asked me if I wanted to join her team it didnt take me long to decide that it was the path I wanted to follow.  I am now training groups and also helping Jen with various admin tasks and LOVING IT!

It has been a whirlwind ride but I feel very lucky to have been able to specialse right at the beginning of my training career.  By working with Jenny and her team of expert pre and postnatal healthcare providers I have already learnt a huge amount and am excited about continuing to gain experience and learn more whilst knowing I have Jenny's knowledge to lean on whenever I need it.

As mother to five year old David and three year old Nikki I also know the challenges that motherhood brings and aim to show you hpw you can combine a healthy and active lifestyle with raising children.

Testimonials

"I've been training with Jen for a couple of months now and love it, it’s the best money I spend all week.  There are so many benefits for me: a regular time for exercise time for myself without the kids, fresh air & sun, an opportunity to get fit, lose weight & gain strength and finally and super importantly for me, it boosts my serotonin levels (something that sleep deprivation & breast-feeding hormones seem to deplete in me). I've realised that being a mum doesn't have to stop or alter your life altogether, and that you can and should still fit in time to do things for yourself, and for me, that's regular exercise. Having the nannies to look after the kids while I'm getting a good training session with Jen offers no excuse for opting out. I highly recommend it."    Biz Lopez-Lightfoot Alex & Jack February 2010
