May 2010 - Body Beyond Baby at the Mothers Day Royal Picnic

Body Beyond Baby is part of the Well Women's Lounge at this years Mother's Day Royal Picnic.  At the Mothers Day picnic we will be offering interactive 15 minute workshops to help you rebuild from the inside out. Each workshop will have time afterwards for any pre and postnatal health and fitness questions you may have.

Workshop 1- Postural Stretch and Strengthen
Additional pregnancy weight, coupled with continued feeding and lifting your little ones can often lead to hunched posture and back pain. This workshop will teach you how to stretch out that tired upper body, while strengthening your supporting back muscles. Walk away feeling strong, tall and refreshed.

Workshop 2 – Abdominal Separation & Core Activation
Are you suffering from the condition ‘Diastasis Recti’?

This condition, otherwise known as abdominal separation, is a common yet often undiagnosed postnatal issue. Learn basic exercises to correct separation, allowing you to regain core strength; alleviate related back pain; and banish the dreaded ‘mummy tummy’.

September 2009 - Running to Save a Baby

Running festival logo

We are entered a Body Beyond Baby team the Blackmores Running Festival in 2009 and raised over $5000 for the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation.

This is a cause that sits very close to our hearts at Body Beyond Baby.  Many of us gave birth to beautiful healthy babies at the Royal Hospital for Women but unfortunately this is not always the case.  Babies can be halthy one minute and very ill the next, others can be born with life threatening illnesses and through the work at the Royal Hospital for Women Foundation more of these babies and their families are given the opportunity to pull through and enjoy what many of us take for granted everyday.

Marley, Jen & PernillaJen and PernillaBec and Tone

Well done to all those that completed the various races - see you next year!

Testimonials

"I've been training with Jen for a couple of months now and love it, it’s the best money I spend all week.  There are so many benefits for me: a regular time for exercise time for myself without the kids, fresh air & sun, an opportunity to get fit, lose weight & gain strength and finally and super importantly for me, it boosts my serotonin levels (something that sleep deprivation & breast-feeding hormones seem to deplete in me). I've realised that being a mum doesn't have to stop or alter your life altogether, and that you can and should still fit in time to do things for yourself, and for me, that's regular exercise. Having the nannies to look after the kids while I'm getting a good training session with Jen offers no excuse for opting out. I highly recommend it."    Biz Lopez-Lightfoot Alex & Jack February 2010
